Only 12 were ever manufactured, and according to researchers, only 8 survived by the course of time.It was a 1942 Rolex Chronograph. It was originally valued at around $680 thousand. The watch features 17 jewels and pink gold Arabic and baton numerals.

Because of their reliability and persistence, several pilots in the British Royal Air Force used Rolex watches during World War II. Seeing the quality, these watches were usually taken by Nazi soldiers. Rolex, in return, offered replacements to prisoners of war based only on their word, causing Rolex to become a symbol of POWs.

5. Rolex watch is made of 904L steel
Most steel watches are made from a sort of stainless steel termed 316L, whereas the steel in Rolex is 904L steel. (Probably)No one else uses this steel. If you ever compare a steel Rolex with another steel watch, you will be able to notice the difference. The 904L steel is more expensive and much more complicated to labor, which is why it appears exclusive to Rolex. It is assumed to be rust and corrosion resistant.

7. Rolex first started in London
Rolex first started in London in 1905 as a watch assembler. In the beginning, they used to import Swiss watches parts and assemble them into English watch cases. Because Britain was having too much taxes, they closed their British Office in 1919 and moved back to Switzerland.
